For the past six years, Colt Coeur has created work that inspires compassion, humor, empathy, ferocity and an unapologetic sense of wonder. We come together to unleash brave and bold stories that build community and probe our understanding of the human experience. We are our own best medicine for these dark times.
Our call to action is clear. With your help, we aim to expand our reach and our audience. We will continue to be an artistic home for the most exciting emerging playwrights, actors, and designers, while also launching artists who may be new to you. We will produce two world premieres in our 2017-2018 season and continue our Parity Plays Festival celebrating the work of female and trans playwrights and directors. We will hold our 7th Annual Education Initiative, a free theater intensive for Brooklyn students ages 11 to 15. We take seriously our artistic and social responsibility to serve as a resource to youth through engaged, exemplary theater education – and we invite alums of our program to return as paid Student Leaders as well as audience members at our productions.
This past year we produced our first two-show season, mounting the world premieres of Cal in Camo by William Francis Hoffman and Empathitrax by Ana Nogueira. This tremendous milestone would not have been possible without your support. Please join me by making a tax-deductible gift to Colt Coeur’s Annual Fund. If you prefer to donate via check, please make it out to Colt Coeur and send it to 138 South Oxford Street, Suite 4E, Brooklyn, NY 11217. Your donation today is an investment in our community, our stories, and our future!
Thank you in advance for your generosity. I wish you and your loved ones a merry holiday season!
P.S. Stay tuned for a special opportunity to see and celebrate the critically-acclaimed Dear Evan Hansen, currently running on Broadway. The musical’s book was written by our very own Steven Levenson (Seven Minutes in Heaven, Colt Coeur’s 1st production!) and I serve as the Associate Director.
